Sony smartphones with Sony game console

Bundle offer: Sony smartphones with Sony game console At 1&1: Order a Sony smartphone, get PlayStation 5 at a discount. Want a games console to go with your new smartphone? 1&1 now offers just that.

The devices are both from Sony and offer good savings in the bundle. Whether Sony Xperia 10 IV, Sony Xperia 5 IV or Sony Xperia 1 IV - COMPUTER BILD took a look at all three OLED smartphones in tests and found them all to be "good".

If one of the devices catches your eye, read on. At 1&1, you can get them for a good price in a bundle, i.e. in combination with a cell phone contract.

One-off device costs are waived in almost all combinations, the basic fee is greatly reduced in the first six months, and the icing on the cake is a subsidized Sony PlayStation 5 available for immediate delivery.

What's in the Sony bundles First of all: The bundles are, so to speak, service suggestions from 1&1, which is what the editors are referring to.

However, it is possible to select a smaller or larger rate and book fewer or more services accordingly. All bundles come with an all-net flat rate for telephony, allow unlimited text messaging and offer EU roaming.

They are implemented in the O2 network and manage up to 50 megabits per second (Mbps; called LTE 50) in the bundles with the Sony Xperia 10 IV and Sony Xperia 5 IV. These two packages include 5 gigabytes (GB) of data volume. 1&1 combines the top-of-the-range Xperia 1 IV with the "LTE M" rate, which provides 10 GB of volume with a maximum download speed of 225 Mbps.

How much savings are there in the bundles? Are they worth it mathematically? COMPUTER BILD pulled out the calculator.

Sony Xperia 10 IV: The basic fee is 16.99 euros for the first six months, then 39.99 euros. That makes 821.76 euros after a minimum term of two years.

The new smartphone costs from EUR 341, leaving EUR 480.76 or around EUR 20 per month for the rate plans.

Compared to the O2 Free S Boost with 6 GB data volume for 19.99 Euros, the rate in this bundle is not outstanding.

Only when you additionally order the PS5 is the offer worthwhile. Then, the monthly base fee is 24 Euros higher across the board, but the bottom line is that the console in the bundle costs 576 Euros, which is noticeably lower than the 620 Euros of the online competition.

Sony Xperia 5 IV: The rate costs amount to 1,139.76 Euros after two years. The new price is around 900 Euros, which means that the rate is just under 240 Euros or 10 Euros per month. A fair price, but Blau.

de offers a bit more for the money with its "Blau Allnet Plus" rate (also O2 network; with 12 GB for 9.99 Euros). Here, the deal is only really worth it with the optional PlayStation 5.

Sony Xperia 1 IV: During the minimum term of 24 months, the rate costs add up to 1,529.76 Euros (without PlayStation 5).

Deducting the new price of currently 929 Euros, you pay 600.76 Euros or approximately 25 Euros per month for the rate. Comparable rates are cheaper or offer more for the same money. The bundle only offers savings potential with the PS5.
