Microsoft Releases Update KB5023775 for Windows 11 Insider Beta

In addition to Insider Dev and Canary that don’t get new updates, this week’s Insider Beta and Release

In addition to Insider Dev and Canary that don’t get new updates, this week’s Insider Beta and Release Preview users get updates that bring a number of improvements in it.

Specifically, the Insider Beta, the update presented itself is KB5023775 which will change Build OS to 22621.1465 and 22624.1465. And as usual for those of you who don’t know that the Insider Beta is divided into two separate builds, where Build 22621 contains new features that are defaultly inactive and 22624 contains novel features that have been activated by default.

In this new update for the Insider Beta, there are now more languages in Live Caption including Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese (Brazilian), Spanish and more English dialects.

In addition, on the Settings page and more specifically on the Keyboard Settings, Microsoft updates touch keybord settings, where you can set how the touch keyboard works.

The new option can be viewed on the Settings > Time & language > Typing > Touch keyboard page, where you can find the dropdown option to regulate how the touch keyboard looks.

In addition, for Build 22624 users, the Network Icon on the System Tray will now change if users use a VPN connection like in the following image.

And the fourth now Voice Access is also re-improved, where on the help page has now got a fresher look.

Meanwhile for Build 22621 and 22624, there are a number of other improvements that include improvements to:

  • This update implements phase three of Distributed Component Object Model (DCOM) hardening. See KB5004442. After you install this update, you cannot turn off the changes using the registry key.
  • This update addresses a problem that affects a computer account and Active Directory. When you reuse an existing computer account to join an Active Directory domain, joining fails. This occurs on devices that have installed Windows updates dated October 11, 2022 or later. The error message is, “Error 0xaac (2732): NERR_AccountReuseBlockedByPolicy: ‘An account with the same name exists in Active Directory. Re-using the account was blocked by security policy.” For more information, see KB5020276.

And generally speaking, this upgrade has been presented in Insider Dev Build 23403 for two weeks, so if you are also an insider Dev user you are no longer strange to some of the upgrades above.

So if you’re an Insider Beta user and want to get this update, you can immediately scroll to the Settings page > Windows Update > Check for Updates and download the available updates there.
